Tim is a recognized leader in the business valuation field -- having been involved in more than 2,000 valuation engagements and numerous merger & acquisition transactions. He also consults with family businesses on integrating the family and business issues surrounding succession planning.
Tim prides himself in using plain English to teach the business owner what the value is of their most prized asset. In 2013, he released his first book, Know and Grow the Value of Your Business: An Owner's Guide to Retiring Rich. Tim has been a featured speaker on valuation topics throughout the United States.
Tim has obtained the top three professional valuation designations (ASA, CBA, ABV).
I worked as a security analyst for a large company. In that role I valued publicly-traded stocks for the pension portfolio. I wanted to do the same for private companies and found an opportunity to do that 23 years ago.
I like to solve big picture issues (valuation, strategic planning and exit planning). I love to teach clients how to value their business and the best way to grow that value and ultimately realize that value.
I see myself as a valuation strategist for my clients. I teach them how their company is valued and develop ways to increase the value. Other professionals in my field are more technicians and many times do not step back and help their clients achieve their goals.
They are so busy with the day-to-day operations they fail to step back and look at their business like an investment. They are not proactive about improving their business value and developing their optimal exit plan.
